Crafton Hills College Accreditation Reaffirmed

Crafton Hills College has been informed that it is no longer under any accreditation sanctions, and the school’s superlative work to bring the institution into compliance was highly praised by the evaluating team of educators. The College’s accreditation has been fully reaffirmed by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) as of January 31, 2011.  

Nanotechnology Training Begins March 21

“Nanotechnology is a new frontier in science and technology that will revolutionize how we manufacture products,” according to Albert Maniaol, Director of Applied Technologies Training. Anyone interested in being trained in this exciting, cutting edge technology with biotech and energy applications can enroll for the next course, which starts March 21, and the cost of that professional development training, $4,500, will be paid for by a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.

The Center for the Advancement of Nanotechnology(NanoCenter) will be hosting the first in their Evolving Your Business speaker series on Wednesday, February 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Center’s facilities at 114 S. Del Rosa Dr., in San Bernardino. Eddy Sumar, CEO of ER$ Consulting Services, will speak on Starting a Nanotechnology-Related Business. This series is designed for entrepreneurs, small business owners, consultants, and others who have a passion for technology based enterprise.  

District Anticipates $1.2 Million in Annual Savings from Energy Plan

The San Bernardino Community College District (SBCCD) has embarked on an ambitious program of energy efficiency that may  result, ultimately, in more than a $1.2 million in savings per year for the SBCCD, reduce carbon emissions at the equivalency level of 7.2 million automobile miles and result in reduced greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. The program involves the types of new construction funded by the Measure M Bond program and potential state financial incentives, and the application of energy efficiency measures to existing sites.
