Measure CC. Building new opportiunties for our students and our community

Economic Impact on the Community

Currently, the SBCCD oversees San Bernardino Valley College, Crafton Hills College, the Economic Development and Corporate Training division (EDCT) and its own public television and radio station (KVCR TV-FM). The SBBCCD provides 200 plus academic and career education programs. Annually, the SBCCD’s economic impact is over $621 million.

SBCCD creates a significant positive impact on the business community and generates a return on investment to its major stakeholder groups—students, taxpayers, and society.

SBCCD promotes this economic growth in the SBCCD Service Area in a variety of ways. The district is an employer and buyer of goods and services, and the living expenses of students benefit local businesses. In addition, SBCCD is a primary source of education to the SBCCD Service Area residents and a supplier of trained workers to the SBCCD Service Area industries.

The district benefits local businesses by increasing consumer spending in the region and supplying a steady flow of qualified, trained workers into the workforce.

With the passage of Measure CC, it will continue to add to the District’s economic impact. Measure CC will create internship opportunities for students and thousands of construction related jobs over the next decade that will translate into millions of dollars in salaries. The added workforce will equate to an increase in local spending, in turn supporting local businesses.

SBCCD’s will continue to transform the lives and landscape of the diverse communities in the region by providing high quality, effective and accountable instructional and training programs and services to the students and communities we serve.
