  • Can I submit my resume and/or cover letter in person or by mail?

  • Do I have to come down to your office to pick up an application?

No, all applications are submitted online. The district does not accept paper applications.

  • Do I have to complete an application for each job?

No. Each type of position requires only one application. Once you complete an application you may use it for all jobs within that type. For example, if you complete a classified application, you can use that same application for each classified position for which you would like to apply.

  • I am a current employee of the district and would like to transfer into a position that is currently open for recruitment. What do I need to do?

In order to "transfer" into a new position, the open position must be the same classification as your current classification. You must apply to the position just as you would for any other vacancy and indicate in your cover letter that you are requesting consideration for transfer. Your application will be considered before any external candidates.

  • If am a current employee of the district and I am applying for another position, do I have to include my transcripts?

Yes. You must submit all of the required documents for the position in order to be included in the applicant pool.

The time frame varies for each recruitment. You will be notified either by phone, US Mail, or email of your application status once a decision is made.

  • Where can I find the current employment opportunities within the district?

All available positions are now listed at the SBCCD Jobs Site at http://www.sbccdjobs.com.
