1. Why does my old CCentral account and password not work?
CCentral login and password have been changed to be the same as your student e-mail account's login and password. The login and E-mail Address is constructed using your full name and the last three digits of your student ID.
An example is shown below.

E-mail Address: firstname.lastnameXXX@student.sbccd.net
Login: firstname.lastnameXXX
Where:
  first name is your full, official first name (no nicknames)
  last name is your full, official last name
  XXX is the last three digits of your student ID
Example:  
  Name: Joseph Smith
  Student ID: 0123456
  E-mail Address: joseph.smith456@student.sbccd.net
  Login: joseph.smith456

The first time you use this account, your password will be your birthday in MMDDYY format. The first time you log in to CCentral you will have to change this password. Once you have changed your password, you will use this new account to access both CCentral and student e-mail. If you need help accessing these accounts, please contact the Help Desk at (877) 241-1756.


2. What is my e-mail account and password?
E-mail accounts are constructed using your full name and the last three digits of your student ID.
An example is shown below.

E-mail Address: firstname.lastnameXXX@student.sbccd.net
Login: firstname.lastnameXXX
Where:
  first name is your full, official first name (no nicknames)
  last name is your full, official last name
  XXX is the last three digits of your student ID
Example:  
  Name: Joseph Smith
  Student ID: 0123456
  E-mail Address: joseph.smith456@student.sbccd.net
  Login: joseph.smith456

To activate your student e-mail account the first time, you must go to CCentral, log in using your new account ID and change your password. The first time you use this account, your password will be your birthday in MMDDYY format (ei. 11/04/1934 = 110434). The first time you log in you will have to change this password. Once you have changed your password, you will use this new account to access both CCentral and student e-mail. 3. How do I access my e-mail account as a first time user?
If your have never used your e-mail account before, you must access your e-mail by going through CCentral. CCentral can be found by going to this link: Access CCentral. The first time you use your CCentral after January 29, 2006, your account and password to CCentral will have changed. If you do not know how your account ID is constructed, please visit this link. As a first time user, your password will be your birthday in MMDDYY format. You will be forced to change your password the first time you log in. Whatever you choose as your CCentral password will be the same password you use for accessing your student e-mail system.


4. How do I access my e-mail account on an ongoing basis?
You may access the student e-mail system by going directly to the address, http://student.sbccd.net.

6. Can I re-direct my e-mail to another, personal account?
Yes, you may re-direct mail sent to the SBCCD student e-mail system, by following these instructions.

  1. Make sure you are using the default layout. When you login, make sure the third box under Layout is empty.
  2. From the main Inbox screen, click on the Mail Control button. The icon of the Mail Control button looks like the following,

  3. On the Mail Control panel that appears, under the Mail Redirection heading, click on the Enable checkbox.
  4. In the line Redirect All Mail to, enter the e-mail address(es) where you would like your e-mail forwarded. You may enter more than one account. Enter one account per line.
  5. Make sure the Preserve To/CC fields checkbox is checked.
  6. Leave the Do not Redirect Automatic Messages checkbox unchecked
  7. If you want to keep a copy of the re-directed e-mail in the SBCCD e-mail system, check the box, Keep a Copy. However, if you do so, your mailbox will still have email in it. If it gets full, you will not receive any new email. If you want forwarded e-mail to be removed from the SBCCD e-mail system after it is forwarded, leave this box unchecked.

Once you have set these options as you like, you must save your changes. Click on the save button, picture of a check mark in the upper left corner of the Mail Control panel, your changes will be saved, and all mail from this time forward will be forwarded to the account(s) you have designated. Please remember that SBCCD considers the student e-mail system to be one its official modes of communication. This means that if you choose to re-direct e-mail to another account, you are still responsible for communications that may be re-directed to your personal account(s).


7. If I leave school how long will my account remain active?
You account will remain active for two primary terms - Spring and Fall - after you leave school and will then be deleted. Anything left in the account at that time will be lost.


8. How large of an attachment may I send with a single e-mail?
Attachments to a single e-mail may not exceed 7 megabytes in size (approximately 7 million characters).


9. How large is my mailbox and associated folders?
You can store up to 50 megabytes of information in your account. This is approximately 50 million characters.
